Miles & Stockbridge P.C. is seeking a Communications Manager.  This position will be located in the Baltimore office and be a part of the firm’s Business Development and Marketing department. The Business Development and Marketing department works alongside firm leadership, practice group leaders, partners and other senior-level firm stakeholders to develop, implement and execute an innovative marketing and BD strategy. They support the growth and retention of existing client relationships, discover and develop relationships with new clients, maintain and build the Miles & Stockbridge brand and drive awareness and favorability of our niche practice experience in the market.  

Requirements

Under the supervision of the Director of Communications & Public Relations, the Communications Manager’s primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: 

• Managing the firm’s social media channels on a daily basis and for larger campaigns
• Researching, writing and editing lawyer bios
• Managing the firm’s internal review process for blogs, articles, invitations and other external communications
• In collaboration with the Communications and BD teams, develop a thought leadership and content strategy that highlights key growth priorities from the practice group strategic plan
• Developing and executing strategic media relations campaigns
• Researching, writing and distributing news releases, pitches, award nominations, and website and portal news items
• Managing interview and placement details, including reprint rights
• Proofreading media relations and marketing materials
• Researching and responding to select legal industry surveys and rankings
• Tracking and providing analysis on social media, media relations and other external communications, and incorporate feedback in future recommendation

Journalism, or related field and have 5-10 years of experience in a professional services firm, B2B marketing agency, or equivalent. Prior law firm experience is highly preferred. Experience with B2B Messaging on Social Media platforms and other large-scale marketing technologies and systems is also preferred.
