Company History
Chestnut was founded in 1973 as an addiction treatment provider. Its two employees cared for clients in a Victorian house on Chestnut Street in Bloomington, IL. In the years since, Chestnut has grown to 700 employees. The agency still offers addiction treatment as well as mental health counseling, primary health care, prevention education, credit counseling, and more. Chestnut cares for patients and clients at ten locations in Illinois and Missouri. Its Lighthouse Institute is a leading researcher of evidence-based treatment practices.
