The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) is a 501c(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to improving clinical orthopaedic practice and patient outcomes by funding musculoskeletal research and preparing the next generation of investigators to carry on the important work of identifying, understanding, and resolving issues related to musculoskeletal injury and disease. Since our founding in 1955, we have provided nearly $150 million to fund clinically relevant research and research-related education programs.
Company History
The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) was founded in 1955 by orthopaedic surgeons to help their colleagues investigate research questions important to the field, independent of commercial concerns. Today, OREF serves both orthopaedic surgeons and the broader musculoskeletal community by nurturing new investigators, providing grant funding, and supporting clinically relevant research that advances clinical orthopaedic practice and improves patient care.
